• Passengers who want to export antiquities, articles or curios are advised to consult the Curator of the Nepal Museum in Kathmandu whether or not export it is allowed.
• A clearance certificate of antiquities or curios from the Customs
• Local currency (Nepalese Rupee-NPR) and foreign currencies: up to the amounts imported and declared. Only ten per cent of the amount exchanged into local currency will be re-exchanged into foreign currency at the airport upon departure.

Basic health information for travelers to Nepal

• Healthcare is poor in most places except the Kathmandu Valley and Pokhara. Expensive medical treatment is expected at Western travellers' clinics in Nepal. Travellers should be aware that it might be difficult to obtain rapid helicopter evacuation if you were to fall ill or suffer a serious accident in a remote area of the country.

• Insect based diseases present throughout Bhutan include Dengue Fever and Japanese encephalitis and all travellers should exercise great caution to prevent any potential risk of infection

• Travellers to remote sections of the country are also urged to avoid any wild dogs or other animals whose bit might contain Rabies. If bitten, visitors are instructed to quickly wash the wound before seeking out emergency medical assistance to check for any signs of infection.

• Storms, flash flooding, and landslides are common during the Monsoon season between and all foreign drivers inside the country during this period are urged to avoid driving in potentially hazardous weather conditions.

• Theft and violent assaults targets tourists and foreign visitors to the country, particularly in tourist areas, and all travellers are advised to keep their passport and other valuables in a safe and secure location for the duration of their visit and should also avoid any obvious displays of affluence which could potentially attract unwanted attention. There has been a noted increase in gang related violence throughout many of the major cities throughout the country and all visitors should avoid travelling alone where possible.
